Best weapon for Varesa, calculated

Vivid Notions tops the weapon calc for Varesa at 59,103 average damage on Elemental Burst. Every row below is the same hit with only the weapon swapped, at Level 90, talent 10 and refinement 1 — the right-hand column is the damage you give up by running it instead.

Each catalyst equipped on a Lv90 Varesa at talent 10 — base ATK, substat and any modelled passive. Weapons whose passive is not modelled show only their raw stats; better a missing buff than a wrong one. Swap any of them in the Varesa calculator to re-run the whole chain on your own panel.

Constellations & passives

Only self-buffs that are unconditional and clearly numeric change the numbers above. Everything else is shown as text but applies nothing.

Ascension passives

  • Tag-Team Triple Jump! not modelled — text only

After using the Elemental Skill Riding the Night-Rainbow, Varesa gains "Rainbow Crash" for 5s. During this time, when Varesa uses a Plunging Attack, the shockwave DMG dealt when she hits the ground is increased by 50% of her ATK. If Varesa is in the Fiery Passion state, this ground impact DMG is increased by 180% of her ATK instead. The Rainbow Crash effect will be canceled once a ground impact hits an opponent, or when its duration expires.

  • The Hero Twice-Returned! not modelled — text only

When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Varesa's ATK increases by 35% for 12s. Max 2 stacks. Each stack's duration is counted independently.

  • Night Realm's Gift: A Torch That Incinerates Evil not modelled — text only

After Nightsoul points have been fully depleted, Varesa will switch to using Phlogiston to maintain the Sudden Onrush mode from her Nightsoul's Blessing. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, Nightsoul Transmission: Varesa can be used. When the current active character is sprinting or in movement modes caused by certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, switching to Varesa will trigger the following: Varesa enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, switches to Sudden Onrush mode, and obtains 20 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own party. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, Varesa will not take fall DMG when using terrain differences to make leaps.

  • Blazing Heart, Singular Advance! not modelled — text only

Varesa's Sprint speed is increased. When she is not in combat, her Sprint Stamina consumption will also increase. Additionally, while in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, your party members will restore 20 Phlogiston when consuming food. This effect can occur once every 10s and does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.

Varesa build questions, answered

What does Varesa scale off?

Varesa's Elemental Burst scales off total ATK — character base ATK plus weapon base ATK, then (1 + ATK%) and flat ATK on top. A weapon’s base ATK line therefore feeds this character directly.

What stat does Varesa get from ascension?

Varesa's ascension substat is CRIT Rate. It arrives at the Level-80/90 ascension and is part of the character's own stats, so the calculator counts it before any artifact roll is added.

What is the best weapon for Varesa?

Ranked by computed Elemental Burst damage at Level 90, talent 10 and refinement 1, Vivid Notions is the strongest catalyst for Varesa at 59,103 average damage per hit. The Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds used by this page's preset panel averages 42,794, 27.6% behind it.

What artifacts should Varesa use?

Obsidian Codex (4) is the set this calculator presets Varesa with, and the damage tables include its bonuses. Set effects that depend on the element of the hit are applied per row rather than as a flat average.

How much damage should Varesa do?

On the default Level-90, talent-10 build shown above, Varesa's largest single hit averages 42,794 — the table lists its CRIT and non-CRIT numbers separately. That is a reference panel, not a target: load your own artifact rolls into the calculator to get your own number.

Do these numbers include Varesa's constellations?

No — every table is computed at C0. Constellations that are unconditional and clearly numeric are modelled in the calculator and marked as such on this page; the rest are listed as text only and change nothing.

How those numbers are produced: the damage formula, term by term, and the weapon & artifact build guide. If Varesa still hits soft, the six levers ranked by damage added shows which multiplier is holding a build back.
